Built in 2004, this beautiful shelterhouse is an all-season building with both heat and air conditioning. The shelterhouse is furnished with a full kitchen and large countertop island, along with ample preparation space. The rustic building features mostly round tables, but also has some banquet tables to go with a large supply of padded chairs. Additional amenities include handicap accessible restrooms, a large screen television and an outdoor concrete patio area. The shelterhouse holds 175 inside, with additional room on the patio - weather permitting. Rental fee is $100 along with a $100 deposit fee. There is a lovely open-air shelterhouse nearby the small baseball diamond in Memorial Park. There is no cost to use and no need for reservations. However, usage is based on first come, first serve. Several picnic tables are inside the building, with restrooms located on the back side. A second, smaller shelterhouse is located near the Sauk Rail Trail. Again, there is no fee to use, no reservations taken, and usage is first come, first serve.
In 2012, the Breda Legion acquired the former Zeke's Restaurant building from the City of Breda. After gutting the building, adding a new roof and installing a new heating and cooling system, the Legion broke down walls to connect the two structures as one. The newly expanded Legion now has increased its space by 50% and seating capacity by almost 75%. The result is a facility with 7,500 square feet and ability to seat 530. The "new space" provided the Breda Legion with a handicap-accessible entrance and handicap-accessible restrooms. Additionally, there is a larger bar, bigger catering staging room and increased restrooms. Rental for the entire facility is $250. Or, persons can rent one half of the building for $125. The "original half" seats 330, while the "new half" seats 200. Both sides feature bar areas. Beautiful, large-scale pocket wooden doors can separate the two sides if needed.
When utilizing the facility, the rental fee entitles you to staffed bartenders for the duration of your event. There are no restrictions on catering options. In 2006, thanks to a generous donation from Mary Nieland's estate, the former dining room at the St. Bernard school was remodeled into a fellowship hall dedicated as the Mary Nieland Center. The area features 10 large round tables, with 8 chairs comfortably fitting around each table. Rental of the center includes access to a full commercial kitchen - where for many years school lunches were prepared. The kitchen features large refrigerators and abundant counter, prep and wash space. When not used for Parish functions, the center is well suited for family gatherings, rehearsal suppers or club meetings. Restroom access is available.

The gymnasium inside the former St. Bernard school building is also available for rental. Whether you want to schedule a basketball game, or have plenty of space for a child's birthday party, the gym is a great option. Restroom access is available.

A newly remodeled room inside the former St. Bernard School was just made available for rental in 2013. The Family Ministry Center features a large room for meetings or small group gatherings. Several area organizations enjoy scheduling golf tournament fundraisers and business appreciation events at the Breda Golf Course. Kevin and Dustin are experienced tournament organizers who will work with you to set up the perfect event.
