Can you feel spring fever setting in? If so, it means it's also time to sign-up for the 2017 Little League season in Breda. The league will once again field boys and girls teams from T-Ball up to Seniors. And, for the fifth year in a row, a T-ball Learning Camp will be offered for 3 and 4-year-olds.
The Breda Recreation League is requesting parents to register their children by sending forms and entry fees in the mail. To be part of the Breda Little League, parents need to complete the Youth Sports Registration/Emergency Form (click here if you don't have excel and need it in a pdf), which will serve as a combined player registration and medical waiver form. Also, please provide a copy of your child's birth certificate along with a registration fee. If your child played on a team in Breda in 2016, the league does not need a copy of his/her birth certificate, as that should already be on file. Only new kids to the league will need to turn in a copy of their birth certificate. As in years past, players outside of Breda are welcome to join the league.
Fees for 2017 are as follows:
•T-Ball Learning Sessions: ages 3-4 ($25)
•T-Ball (must be age 5 prior to June 1, 2017): ages 5-6 ($25)
•Pee Wee: 1st and 2nd grade (your grade in the 2016-2017 school year) ($30)
•Minors: 3rd and 4th grade ($30)
•Majors: 5th and 6th grade ($30)
•Seniors: 7th, 8th and 9th grades ($30 for Girls, $35 for Boys)
Checks can be made payable to the Breda Rec League. Checks and completed registrations should be mailed to: Breda Rec League, PO Box 302, Breda, IA 51436, or they can be dropped off in person on weekdays to Jean Ludwig at MoveIt (103 MoveIt Drive in Breda). Registration deadline is Friday, March 24. Any registrations received after that date and prior to April 8 will still be accepted but will be subject to a $20 late fee. No registrations will be accepted past April 8, 2017.
The league is always looking for volunteer coaches. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the attached official Volunteer Application Form.
Team pictures are scheduled for May 30 for all teams. Parents will have the option to purchase professional team or individual photos. While picture purchases are optional, all team members should be present for the team photo.
Other Breda Little League notes:
•The league is again looking for team sponsors. If you or your business is interested in sponsoring a team, please contact the Breda Rec board members.
•There will be Breda Little League fanwear apparel available for purchase later this spring. The design is currently being finalized.
•Parents will be asked to help out with the scoreboard and concession stand. If every parent helps out just once, the season will be covered!
