Sauk Rail Trail

Bordering the edge of Memorial Park is the beautiful Sauk Rail Trail which meanders through the eastern perimeter of town. The Sauk Rail Trail is a 33-mile long multi-use concrete recreational trail. As a midway point between two state parks (Swan Lake and Blackhawk Lake), Breda is well-positioned as a destination stop for walkers or bikers utilizing the trail. The city even has a paved connector to allow persons on the Sauk Rail Trail to make a pit stop at Memorial Park. And, in the wintertime, the trail is open for snowmobiling or cross-county skiing.

To help with maintenance expenses of this great resource, user fees are required for those aged 18 and up. These inexpensive permits ($2/day or $15/year) can be purchased at either the Carroll County Conservation Board or Sac County Conservation Board. Passes are also now available at the Breda City Hall.
